As spring begins to unfold, I’m reminded how life has a way of returning, even after long seasons of darkness. September is Suicide Prevention Month, and it’s also a tender reminder for me personally—I’ve lost loved ones to suicide, and I often wonder how things might have been different if they had felt able to reach out. Sometimes we get so caught in our own pain that it feels impossible to see another way forward. But just as spring shows us that change is possible, connection and conversation can help us find light in the darkest places.
